About Me

My name is Michael Vaughan, I am currently studying a Design Arts degree in Gold and Silversmithing in Australia.

My life revolves around creating objects, some artistic and others purely functional (for fun )

I like to shape the world around me, and turn ordinary objects and materials into something else altogether. I like to observe the objects around my world and modify them to suit my needs better.

This is what has led me to undertake my design degree, as I figure that I would do well in creating intelligent objects from scratch rather than simply amending poorly designed ones.

I also have a fascination with the physics and forces of nature, like magnetism, electricity, centrifugal force, electromagnetic waves, light, sound, heat, flight, gravity… the list is endless.

I like to bring these themes into my artistic work because I love objects of mystery, and the way I express this is to create objects with unexpected and curious actions.
